Moresense participated in Dioxin 2023 - the 43rd International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) held in Maastricht (The Netherlands) on September 10 to 14, 2023.

Dioxin2023 was a landmark event that took place in Maastricht, marking a significant return to Europe after a five-year hiatus. Hosted in the picturesque city, this symposium revived the tradition of scientific discourse and collaboration, building upon the legacy of past editions such as the memorable Dioxin2011 in Brussels.

MoreSense tackling emerging challenges: the persistent organic pollutants (POPs)

As expected, Dioxin2023 delved into the science of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) from a multifaceted perspective. The symposium's scope encompassed a wide array of compounds, ranging from legacy pollutants like dioxins and PCBs to emerging substances such as flame retardants, PFAS, CPs, PCNs, and their derivatives. Topics of discussion spanned analytical advancements, emission control, waste management, environmental levels, human exposure, toxicity, regulation, and more, reflecting the evolving landscape of environmental research.

Innovation Focus: The emphasis on showcasing the latest research and findings

With participation from over 40 countries, Dioxin2023 boasted a robust program featuring over 400 short papers and 225 oral presentations across five concurrent sessions. An additional 175 posters adorned the venue, showcasing the latest research and findings. Attendees had access to congress materials online, facilitating engagement with the diverse content offered throughout the four-day conference.

Social events peppered throughout the week provided ample opportunities for networking and collaboration, fostering connections among students, academics, and industry professionals from around the globe.
